Wowza...

Wowza, I haven't posted in soooo long...!!!

It's a frickin blizzard out there!! WTF?!?!?!?!?!?! It doesn't snow in Vancouver, what the hell is going on with this crazy weather?!?!?! It took me 45 min to get home from work...and usually it only takes me 10!!!! Crazy as hell, and just as annoying...

So, what's been going on in my life? Ummm....there's a new girl at work, and it turns out she doesn't like our supervisor either, so that makes three of us in our anti-supervisor group, which is nice. Lousy jobs are only bearable if you have good ppl to bitch out them with.

On a warmer, sunnier note...Aaron and I are going away for 2 weeks on not one, but TWO Carribean cruises!!! We got a killer deal cuz my parents cruise a lot. THANK GOD, cuz I really need a vacation. One week 'Eastern Carribean', one week 'Western Carribean', to and from Miami. February 9-25. Gonna quit my job and cruise for two weeks. AWESOME.

I'm teaching twice a week now, once with an ISS beginners class, and once with a group of refugees from Burma. Gonna start my teacher's training in April. So excited to be getting my life back on track, doing what I love.

And....on  a grosser and less fun note, I've got 'pink eye'. Yes, the scourge of elementary schools everywhere. I've got pink eye. And it hurts like  a bitch. And cuz its a virus, there's not a damn thing I can do about it. Goddamn.

time warp....

Wow, I haven't updated in forever, and so much has happened..... I'm almost on my way to work, so this will be a short run-through of past events, as much as I can remember them....in no particular order

Office Christmas party - Boat Cruise - snow snow snow, wine wine wine.....good times had by all Aaron drank an entire bottle of red wine...but didn't get drunk....thank god...my boss did, tho! Very amusing....stole another branch's trophy cuz they were making fun of us, held it for ransom, ha ha ha! Won a gift card in the trivia contest, my table swept the trivia, good ol' Fresh Prince questions!!!

Body Worlds - I finally got to see it!! Went with Aaron, Kevin, Dan and Dmitri. Very cool, very interesting. Expensive....but worth it, as a one-time thing. Fun fun fun. Went for dinner afterwards. When I'm with girls I feel like a pig for what I eat. Hanging with guys - much better. It's nice being the lady of the group Found out the two chicks in our group don't like me anymore so they dun want to sit with me at the Christmas dinner. How catty. It's not my fault that I'm chatty and they have no ppl skills, they thiunk I've 'stolen' the guys away. Man, we're not in hs anymore, ppl!! Catty girls.

GRADUATED - Aaron took tonnes of pics, gonna put them up tonight on my facebook page. Didn't rain, thank god....didn't trip either - its a miracle!!!! Very exciting, the new president is a better speaker than martha.....saw Kay there, didn't know anybody else....feels wierd to be finished....

Getting promoted at work - my boss told me they want me to replace the RRSP lady when she leaves in Feb for mat leave...wowza....major promotion...helping ppl plan their retirement at 22 yrs of age...huh....oh well, whatever, it'll be a raise, and I'll be moving to mon-fri finally, woot. I only get one day off next week, ugh, but oh welll, I could use the extra money at Christmas time!!

What do you know, spazzing at your boss can really work! I totally lost it at work today, I've been so stressed out since we've been so understaffed and my workload has gotten super huge super fast. Well, when my boss came to tell me off for not doing somethign, I totally flipped, albeit in a polite way (no screaming/swearing). I just poured out all my frustration, and she was totally taken aback. She promised that they've hired a new guy and everything will start getting better and I don't need to worry about it, and everyone's there to help me, yadda yadda yada. Anyway, she was super nice to me for the rest of the day, so here's hoping she caught my drift. My "I-am-going-to-quit-and-leave-you-all-so-screwed" drift.

Speaking of quitting, I applied to my dream job today....fingers seriously crossed......It's a 'program assistant' position at ISS, the non-profit group I volunteer with... I've wanted to work there ever since I started volunteering, I was so excited when i saw the posting on the job board. I just sent my application in, now all I can do is cross my fingers and hope for the best...!!!

day off....

working this split-shift kind of sucks...I work Mon, Wed, Thurs, Fri, Sat and get Sun and Tues off....I miss having two days off in a row....it sounds kind of wierd, but I miss having two days off in a row....*sigh*.....work work work.....

today is my "lazy bum around and get a few things done" day - did some shopping, got a new charger for my cell phone so I can actually be contacted by ppl  >.<  mostly i'm reminding myself what cable tv is.....I don't mind not having cable, but sometimes its nice to just veg out in front if the tv...

aaron and i had a major argument last night...*sigh*....real life is the worst thing for a relationship, the boring, mind-numbing concerns of every day life. I was annoyed cuz he leaves for work at 5 am in the morning and doesn't come home until late, leaving me alone all the time, at his place......still he doesn't like me going back to my parents' place. he's promised to try and change his schedule so he's actually home sometimes.....i feel like such a whiny housewife, but its lonely living by myself all the time. so, we'll see what happens..... >.<

I'm happy my letter made Jen's day  ^_^  I knew as soon as she went to Japan that I'd want to send her letters, its fun writing old-fashioned letters to ppl, its more personal that e-mail, and when you're living far away, getting a letter from home is so nice, its a reminder that ppl at home miss you and remember you, and that's what friends are for!

holy shit its pouring outside...monsoon season has begun...ugh....

I had this discussion about rain with a friend of mine who's living in Saudi Arabia, and he couldn't understand how anyone could not love rain...like the saying goes, everything in moderation, I guess. When you're crammed on a bus full of soggy, steaming, miserable people all squelching their way to work, rain sucks. Ditto for the traffic. Man, its like as soon as it starts raining everyone forgets how to drive. Yeesh.

At least I am currently at home, both warm and dry, with a mug of tea, earl grey, hot, reading web comics and blogging. Life is good.
